Sammie just called!

Sammie just called. She sounded tired and has a small cold. I told her to try and get some rest tonight. She is rooming with both Audra (#16) and Courtney (#11). She said that Ally (#1) is rooming with Amelia (#18) and Dani (#22). It sounded quite in the room. I asked Sammie again about doing laundry and she said that she has to hand wash some stuff tonight. They are there for 2 nights so it has time to dry.
I asked her about the food and she told me that she actually ate the fish meals. One of them she said was breaded so it looked more like fish sticks. The second time it was Salmon and she said it tasted "fishier" but she ate it anyway. That is BIG for Sammie who has a 40 gallon fish tank at home and whenever I make fish, she tells me it is like eating her fish. She has guppies, tetras and neons - NO COMPARISON! lol
She told me that she is a few days behind on journaling but was going to catch up tonight. I know journaling was important on last years trip (Australia), and it may be the same this time around. They don't collect the journals but may look at them to "pass" the kids in the end. Yes, they get graded on this trip. Last year there was a "pass" / "fail" kind of thing. I don't know if anyone ever fails though. So when you chat with your kids, make sure they are atleast jotting down a few things about where they visit. Don't stress them out though, make it more of a great way to remember everything that they did.
Sammie said that the Ferry ride was the only place she has run into an issue with the Visa card - I guess they didn't accept it. Not much else to report.
Thank you everyone who is posting. I check the blog throughout the day and sometimes there is nothing for what seems like FOREVER, but then they start to pop up! :0) I enjoy reading them. Thanks again. Have a great evening everyone. Kathy #5

Too bad about Sammie's cold. I'd suggest you tell her to get some zinc lozenges, but who knows what they call them over the pond. Hopefully the sleep will help. I thought they'd have access to washers at some point. Well, there are only 6 days left, right?

Hmm, I wonder if Kirk is living on bread, croissants and butter. If the first fish dish looked like fish sticks he probably got it down. Maybe he got brave and tried the Salmon, but I doubt it. I'm sure he's not starving. I did notice a $5.64 charge on his Visa at a Burger King in Portsmouth, UK. I'll bet he just couldn't handle another piece of chicken. Either that or a Coke costs $5.64 over there. ;o)

Sammie unfortunately is not into the throat lozenges. I have tried in the past and she just doesn't like them. Hopefully if and when they have some down time, she is resting. I will mention it though whenever I hear from her again. Thanks Clare.
